Handwashing & Care
You can purchase a mesh laundry bag for delicate clothing and wash your crochet clothing in a washing machine on a delicate cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Follow the drying steps below for directions on drying your crochet.
If you prefer hand washing please, follow these steps:
-
Hand wash with Care: Fill a sink, tub, or bowl with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach as they can damage the fibers.
-
Gently Submerge the Garment: Submerge the crochet clothing in the water with the mild detergent already mixed in. Avoid rubbing or wringing the garment, as this can cause the stitches to stretch or become misshapen.
-
Soak and Rinse: Allow the crochet clothing to soak in the soapy water for 5 to 10 minutes. After soaking, drain the water and then refill with clean lukewarm water. Swish the garment in the clean water to remove any remaining detergent.
DRYING:
-
Press Out Water: To remove excess water from the crochet clothing, press it gently between two towels. Avoid twisting or squeezing the garment, as this can damage the stitches.
-
Dry Flat: Lay the crochet clothing flat on a dry towel. Reshape the garment to its original size. If needed, use clothing pins or clips to secure any edges or corners for reshaping. You can also lay your crochet clothing on a drying rack.
-
Avoid Hanging: Never hang crochet clothing to dry, as this can cause the garment to stretch and lose its shape.
-
Steam Ironing: If desired, you can lightly steam iron the crochet clothing on the lowest setting. However, it's essential to place a clean cloth or pressing cloth between the iron and the garment to avoid direct contact.
